Group Learning

Pros

Cons

  •  Group learning is the most familiar training delivery mechanism
  • It should be used when there are a number of learners all requiring the same training at the same time
  • Learner can profit from getting together with their peers and sharing experiences
  • Trainers want learners to have the opportunity to hear and experience others points of view
  • Usually group learning takes place off site so there are no distractions.
  •   Cost Effective
  •  If training takes place off site then delegates may have some distance to travel
  • Some delegates may be uneasy about coming on a course with others. They may differing levels of competence - a training needs analysis may be required

 

Small Group Learning

Cons

  • Smaller groups could be trained on site so no travel cost incurred
  • It can be more flexible to the learning needs Interaction between learner, so sharing their experiences
  •  Limited equipment availability may lower the amount of hands-on experience
  •  More possibility of interruptions if training takes place on site

 

1 to 1 Learning

Pros

Cons

  • 1 to 1 training is created based on the learners specific training needs
  •  On site training
  •  More topics can be covered in a shorter amount of time
  • No interaction with other learners, so no experiences shared
  •  Not cost effective
